Cultural programme

The academic programme of the congress will be accompanied by a cultural programme.

Firstly, in one of Utrecht's beautiful old churches we offer you the opportunity to enjoy a marvellous concert. With its joyful baroque musique and improvisations the Parisian ensemble L'Arpeggiata makes for an unforgettable evening. After the concert there will be the opportunity to taste some wines from Stellenbosch, offered to you by Stellenbosch University, which will present itself as WEHC's next location.
The concert takes place on Wednesday 5 August 2009 and begins at 8.30 PM.
Costs: € 25 (maximum 700 people).
Tickets for the concert can be ordered when you register; at the congress venue only a limited number of tickets will be available for those who have not ordered them in advance.

In addition, from March 2009 onwards it will be possible to subscribe, via this website, for a range of organized excursions, such as guided city walks, a guided tour at the International Institute for Social History, a short video session on the financial credit crisis, a visit to the Kröller Mullermuseum (with its large Van Gogh-collection and famous sculpture garden) and a bustour to the windmills at Kinderdijk.
Lastly, at the congress venue information will be available about all sorts of individual activities you can undertake whenever it suits you best, such as city walks, a visit to the Dom tower, and visits to several museums in Utrecht.
