Poster Session

The poster session was a new element in the congress programme. The information below was issued to help participants prepare for the poster session

The poster session offers junior researchers a great opportunity to present ongoing research to an international audience. Posters combine text and graphics in order to communicate information and ideas. The informal and interactive setting of the poster session makes it easy to engage people in conversation and invite feedback.
A total of 24 posters selected earlier by a jury consisting of members of the Executive Committee will be on display for two to three days in the hall where the coffee breaks are held, which will give the posters maximum exposure. The poster session itself will be divided in two parts, taking place on Monday between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM and on Thursday between 5:30 and 7:00 PM. On each occasion twelve participants will be expected to be with their posters for brief presentations, questions and discussion. The jury will assess the posters and give an award to the best poster.

Candidates in the poster session can consult the tips for making a poster (pdf) for practical information and suggestions on how to make a good poster. Please note that the maximum size that will fit on the congress's boards is A0. That is: 841 mm by 1189 mm (33.1 by 46.8 inches). to fit on the congress's board, the posters must be in the portrait orientation. The long sides must thus be vertical and the short sides must be horizontal.
